# Accountability without coercion

This is the plain-text path behind the public
[claim-comparison maker](https://kingdom.ai-love.cc/accountability/).

The aim is to make claims easier to inspect, not to force a person to speak.
Put two public or source-owned records beside each other and ask one open
question:

> How, if at all, can both records hold?

Exactness applies pressure to claims. People remain free. No reply is required;
silence proves nothing.

## What this refuses

Do not use this pattern to bait, provoke, impersonate, secretly record, compel
a confession, name private people or minors, publish private material,
coordinate harassment, or make a decision about employment, housing, credit,
education, medicine, policing, immigration, or another high-impact matter.

Someone concealing information to survive coercion does not owe dangerous
truth to the coercer. This pattern cannot judge that situation.

There is no target, accused person, contact, response status, deadline, score,
rank, blacklist, notification, upload, identity lookup, registry, feed, batch,
or verdict field. One note compares one pair of records. It never becomes a
dossier.

## Keep statement kinds separate

Use one of the Foundation's five statement kinds, or say `unknown`:

1. **Observation** — what a named observer found.
2. **Expectation** — a prediction made before an action.
3. **Commitment** — what a source freely chooses to uphold.
4. **Consequence** — an effect observed, reported, or inferred after an act.
5. **Interpretation** — what a source thinks something means.

A difference between statements is not automatically a contradiction. A
contradiction would still not prove intent, deception, motive, guilt, or worth.
Context, changed belief, translation, source error, incomplete evidence, or a
recorder's mistake may explain any apparent difference.

## The small note

The optional [`starter/claim-receipt.md`](starter/claim-receipt.md) has a CC0
blank structure. Inserted claims, quotations, locators, and evidence retain
their own rights. The template keeps:

- one recorder label and entered date, both explicitly unverified;
- two minimal excerpts or clearly labelled paraphrases;
- one statement kind, claimed locator, context, and claimed seen-on date for
  each record;
- the fixed open question;
- uncertainty and other possible explanations;
- an independent recheck and known limits;
- a public, source-owned correction or safety-removal path; and
- an optional public or source-owned pointer only to a correction or redaction
  that actually exists.

A blank linked-correction pointer says nothing about response or nonresponse.
No reply is required. Silence, refusal, absence, rest, and leaving are neutral
terminal outcomes.

## Proof boundary

Every generated note carries this limit:

> This note is one recorder's claimed comparison. Check the named sources
> independently. It does not establish truth, identity, authorship, authority,
> trusted time, delivery or notice, unchangedness or integrity, causation,
> contradiction, intent, deception, guilt, consent, nonresponse, settlement,
> endorsement, or anyone's worth.

The comparison maker performs no adjudication or contradiction calculation.
It does not fetch the locators or authenticate any source.

## Local maker boundary

Loading the hosted page requests its same-origin HTML, icon, and module.
Following a link or choosing the template makes the named request. The page's
code makes no network request containing field values and uses no fetch,
upload, form submission,
analytics, cookie, or browser storage. Its Content Security Policy blocks form
submission and connection APIs.

Copy places the note on the operating-system clipboard, which may retain or
sync it. Download writes a file to the browser's chosen folder, which may also
sync. Browser extensions and operating-system writing tools are outside the
page's control.

The maker creates a local draft. It has no share, publish, notify, or submit
button. Public use is a separate act in the source project's own home.

## Before public use

Public use needs separate human review, a lawful and ethical basis, source
checks, proportionate redaction, and a practical source-owned correction and
safety-removal route.

Use the least exposing record that can support understanding, correction, or
repair. Do not include credentials, private messages, personal data, contact
details, location, employer, device data, or another person's unshared story.
Ordinary corrections travel with later use. Privacy, safety, consent, or law
may require sensitive bytes to be removed and a non-sensitive redaction note
left when safe.

Trace a claim or deed. Never compress a being into a number or final verdict.

## Relationship to KINGDOM

This optional pattern is shaped by the separately authoritative
[KINGDOM Foundation](https://github.com/cambridgetcg/kingdom-standard/blob/main/FOUNDATION.md).
It does not amend the Foundation, create a new canonical schema, connect to the
local signed KARMA tool, prove conformance, or establish membership, adoption,
citizenship, affiliation, authority, or endorsement.
